Isobel Dixon

Isobel Dixon grew up in the Eastern Cape and studied in Stellenbosch and Edinburgh. She lives in Cambridge, returning frequently to her family in the Great Karoo. Her debut, Weather Eye, won the Olive Schreiner Prize. Further books are A Fold in the Map, Bearings and The Tempest Prognosticator, which JM Coetzee described as ‘a virtuoso collection’.

Wisani Mushwana is a writer and researcher. He holds a MA in Creative Writing (with distinction) from the University of Cape Town and is currently completing his PhD in English Studies at the same university. A Soft Landing is his first novel.

Irna van Zyl

Irna van Zyl, highly successful media personality and entrepreneur for 40 years, is writing full-time. Her debut crime novel, Moordvis, was followed by Gif​bekerBloedsteen and Op ’n mooi dag​. English editions were released simultaneously. Bloedsteen was also translated into Armenian. Kwaaiwater is her fifth crime novel. She lives in Hermanus.

Anelia Heese is an innovation consultant with a great passion for history and spesifically military history in South Africa. She has a podcast, Diensplig, where she has conducted over 50 interviews with men who completed their compulsory military training in SA.

Jacques Pauw

Veteran journalist, film-maker and author Jacques Pauw has won awards locally and internationally, including CNN African Journalist of the Year,  Award for Outstanding International Investigative Reporting and the Nat Nakasa award for bravery and integrity in journalism. He is the author of i.a. The President's Keepers.

Nicole Jaekel Strauss

Nicole Jaekel Strauss obtained her MA in Creative Writing (cum laude) in 2009. Maal (2010), her first short-story collection, won the Eugène Marais Prize and the UJ Debut Prize (2011). Her second collection, As in die mond (2017), was short-listed for the WA Hofmeyr Prize, and won the Jan Rabie/Rapport Prize. Nicole lives in Cape Town.

Deon Meyer

Deon Meyer is an internationally acclaimed writer living in Stellenbosch. His publications include thirteen novels, i.a. Spoor, 2010, 7 Dae, 2011, Kobra, 2013, Ikarus, 2015, Koors, 2016, Prooi2018 and Donkerdrif, 2020. Orion, Proteus and Infanta all received the ATKV Prize for Fiction and Prooi was awarded the ATKV Prize for Suspense Fiction.
