Harry Kalmer already has eighteen plays to his credit, in addition to which he has also produced six works of fiction. En die lekkerste deel van dood wees was the runner-up in the Sanlam / Insig Groot Romankompetisie (2007).
Briewe aan ’n rooi dak, which is based on the letters Magdalena Otto left behind, received the Anglo-Gold Aardklop award for the best new Afrikaans drama in 2001 and was adapted for TV and broadcast. The author released a limited number of copies of this title – each one handmade.
